Kids Baking Championship Holiday Special 2024 Recap
-Kardea Brown and Duff Goldman are hosting, while Camryn, Elsie, Anaiah and Oscar are the contestants.
-They need to make a cake for their chosen North Pole resident with a knitted accessory made out of buttercream.
-Oscar has the gingerbread man, Elsie has the penguin, Camryn has the snowman and Anaiah has the elf.
-Elsie is making a coconut peppermint cake with a scarf for her penguin. She also does a penguin walk with Duff.
-Oscar makes a spice cake with meringue for his gingerbread man on a hot chocolate mug cake. The gingerbread men will be wearing scarves.
-Camryn makes a carrot cake with cream cheese icing for her snowman, who will be wearing a knitted hat.
-Anaiah is making a chocolate peppermint cake for her elf, who will be wearing a knitted hat and scarf.
-TWIST! They must add chestnuts to their cake. None of them are happy since they all find them disgusting
-Elsie uses chestnut buttercream for her cake filling. She uses heavy cream instead of milk to give it a richer flavor. She likes how it tastes with the peppermint.
-Oscar also makes a chestnut filling and torches the meringue.
-Anaiah is making a chocolate chestnut buttercream instead of peppermint.
-Camryn’s cake isn’t baking properly, causing her to fall behind and freak out.
-Elsie’s decorating hits a glitch, but she manages to get it work.
-Camryn’s cake finally finishes baking, so she begins decorating it, using a hat her grandma made her for inspiration.
-Oscar’s cake begins leaning, so he removes a layer to make it work. He messes up one of his decorations, so he eats it instead. He also jokes that he wants to learn to knit to add to his ‘trifecta of grandma hobbies,’ the other two being baking and gardening.
-Elsie helps Camryn move her cake to the plate, which makes everyone nervous.
-Anaiah has cracks in her cake, so she adds more decorations to make it work.
-Camryn burns her melting chocolate, so Elsie helps her finish decorating with using the unmelted chocolate.
-Before long, it is time to judge and taste each cake. Duff and Kardea give the pros and cons on each before declaring a winner.
-CAMRYN WINS!!!! She does a flip, just like she promised Duff she would if she won.
