We are in yet another week of auditions for NBC’s America’s Got Talent and it is only getting hotter. We have Terry Crews hosting, while Simon Cowell, Julianne Hough, Gabrielle Union and Howie Mandel serve as judges.
Melissa is up first with her pet rat Hanta. The rat does some sort of obstacle course and it is quite….interesting. I am not sure if it will work for Vegas, but it is cute. The judges found it entertaining and different. They send her to the next round.
After a montage of bad remakes, we get to twelve year old Ansley, who does her best Aretha. When it is done to the track, it isn’t as good, but when Simon has her do it a cappella? Magical. The judges love it, love her and send her to the next round.
Sos is up next. His parents were on the show on season 11 as Sos and Victoria, the quick changing act. This act is magic with cards and dancing. It is a bit slow at the beginning, but picked up the pace and left me wanting more.
Marcin plays the guitar and mixes classical with rock and roll. He amazes the judges and goes to the next round.
Andy is a karaoke singer. He kind stands there awkwardly singing Tequila as the audience dances. I don’t get it, but the audience loves it. He goes to the next round.
After a montage of rejected acts, we get to a dance troupe called Aden Dance Crew doing a robotic dance. It’s actually quite entertaining and fun to watch. The guys are easy on the eyes as well. The audience loves them, the judges love them and they are off to the next round.
Musicians Voices of Serivce. perform an inspirational number, hoping to bring healing and positivity to those who need it. They are all from military backgrounds and want to help those with PSTD. At the very least, it brought me to tears. They are also former military. Thank you for your service. The judges thank them as well and send them to the next round.
We get some more entertaining moments and then get to Brandon who plays the flute and channels Magic Mike at the same time. Oy. It’s a no, but Terry joins him on stage and it is quite hilarious.
We then get a family act called Dominiquez Poodle Review. They have dogs, kids parents and everything in between involved in this fun, circus esque act. The audience and judges love it and send them to the next round.
After more rejects, we get to another music act. It reminds me of what would happen if my group of guy friends would start a band. I love it and am immensely entertained. It’s like boy band parody entertainment from start to finish. They go to the next round.
The night ends with the Detroit Youth Choir. It has been around for 21 years and helps keep kids safe and off the streets. It begins with an a capella slow song and then picks up the pace with incredible dancing, fast music and power. WOW. Everyone is into it and cheers for them at the end. The judges are blown away, but before they can vote, Terry rushes the stage to give them the GOLDEN BUZZER!
More next week. Stay tuned.
