Survivor Samoa - ShamboSurvivor Samoa
Why is Shambo so Happy?
by honeySC

After the Survivor Samoa merge, the old Galu tribe was confident that their numbers meant their superiority, but Foa Foa four decided that they would not go out quietly. First they convinced Galu to vote out one of their own, Eric, and at the next tribal council, when Russell played the immunity idol, Kelly from Galu went out next. Foa Foa feels more confident now that they have narrowed the gap and see some hope in their survival. Shambo conspires with Russell to eliminate Laura who she hates passionately. When Russell discovers that the hidden immunity idol is back in the game he resolves to find it as well. He says that his work is a painting and he is looking forward to getting a check worth a million. He says that it was almost as great as his children's birth.

Laura calls Russell a little snake and is shocked that he had a second idol. Shambo tells Russell that Kelly, on her way out, said that Russell ruined everything. He asks if she thought he was there to bake her cookies and cakes. Shambo is delighted at the move and vows to take Laura out as soon as she is without an individual immunity.

Russell gets up at dawn on day 25 and begins his search anew for the third immunity idol. He feels that he is drawn to the idols and they are like magnets to him. Laura, with two immunity necklaces to her credit is winning no ribbons from Shambo who tells John that she wants Laura out. She tries to gain John as a convert and the sixth vote, but he hedges. John assures her that he will not tell anyone that she asked him for his vote, but says that he has to do what is right for him.

Reward ChallengeJeff calls the tribe for the reward challenge. The tribe must divide into two teams of five. One person from each team must lie face down in a cradle, suspended in the air. Attached to it are four ropes that will be pulled and manipulated by the four remaining members to move the cradled person to fifteen flags which must be retrieved in order and placed in a log. The first team to get all fifteen flags in their log will win the reward. The winning team will board a plane and be transported to a waterfall where they will enjoy a generous picnic. In addition they will receive a Palm Pre to use as a camera, recording their once in a life time experience as a keepsake memory.

The Survivor Samoa yellow team consists of John in the cradle and Shambo, Jaison, Monica and Mick. Purple consists of Natalie in the cradle, Laura, Russell, Dave B, and Brett. Purple takes the lead immediately with Natalie getting the first flag. John gets a flag quickly, but drops it. Natalie moves ahead by two and maintains her lead. John gets his second flag, but hits the flags and knocks them out of their stands. Purple continues to move ahead taking a three flag lead, then four flag lead and finally a five flag lead. Natalie holds herself in her cradle with her legs and moves quickly. At the thirteenth flag, she is ahead by five. Purple wins the challenge and reward. Russell is excited to win, and focuses on getting the next clue to the immunity idol. On the flight they contemplate the food and take lots of pictures. The scenery is breathtaking but as soon as the group see the food they drop to their knees. The find hot dogs, cherry pie, and waffles among other foods.

Back on the island, Jaison feels that if they can get more on their side they will offer them a very good deal. He speaks to Monica about becomming number six and he says that this person knew about Laura's tribal council and worked to make it happen. Monica says that she wants John out, and she believes that it is Shambo who defected.

On the reward trip Russell flips through the camera and discovers a clue telling him to go to the memory board for the next clue. It reads, "The palm in your hand holds much information which you'd better heed or it will be your own loss. The immunity idol is no rolling stone. A rolling stone gathers no moss." Russell determines to search for the clue. He watches a video that shows the idol under a stone.

Survivor Samoa - Russell finds immunity IdolUpon their return Russell tells Jaison that the rock is square and when he takes off looking for it, Laura decides to follow him. Russell figures that there is a rock in camp in a hole and he finds the rock and the idol. Russell says that it is getting way too easy. He says that he butt may be in a sling more than ever, but he will be okay with the idol.

It is day 27 on Survivor Samoa and Laura and Natalie discuss that they feel they have defectors from Galu. They rightfully speculate that it is John and Shambo. Laura knows that Shambo hates her and is on a vendetta to get her out. She realizes that she needs the immunity necklace more than ever. Natalie warns her that they might be coming after her since Shambo despises her.

Immunity ChallengeJeff calls the tribe to the individual immunity challenge and Laura reluctantly gives up the immunity necklace. Jeff explains that this immunity is in two parts. Each tribemate will have three tiles of the same color and will get one shot at hitting them. Placed close together, they will have the possibility of hitting more than one with a shot. They will each get one rock to throw and must hit at least one tile to stay in the game and have a chance at individual immunity. For each tile broken, they will earn a spear to use in the second round. The second round requires them to shoot a spear at a target. The one closest to the center of the target wins individual immunity. Russell is out with his first throw as is Shambo. Jaison gets a spear. Monica gets a spear when Dave B hits her tile. Mick connects. Brett breaks two and Laura misses, meaning that she doesn't get immunity. Shambo laughs loudly. Moving on to the second round is Brett with two spears, Jaison, Mick and Monica with one. Brett shoots his first spear and lands on the target. Jaison misses and has no shot at immunity. Monica shoots and hits low. Mick hits the target and is inside Brett's mark. Brett gets a second shot and doesn't beat Mick, so Mick wins individual immunity and is safe from tribal council.

Back at Survivor Samoa's camp Shambo crows at Laura's vulnerable. She believes that it is destiny that Laura goes home. Strategies run rampent with Galu, first discussing Russell, and the settling on John. Monica is sent to attempt to gather Foa Foa's vote, but she wants John out. Russell feels their only option is to inform John that he is the target. They settle on Natalie. Talk runs in the direction of a tie with Galu and they decide that Shambo will vote Laura no matter what, so it will be a tie. Foa Foa comes to the same conclusion and John is not happy to find out that his tribe is targeting him. Russell says that the plan is to get rid of Laura. Shambo can't be budged. Brett listens to Shambo but doesn't agree with her. Laura suggest Russell and Dave B. says that it is Natalie. John says that his tribe is not making good decisions. Dave is happy that it is John. On Foa Foa they decide where to change their vote should it be a tie. Monica tries to convince Russell that John is her vote. Jaison and Mick also distrust her.  John is not happy that the plan to save Laura is to throw four votes at John. Brett tries to convince him that Galu has his back but he is not buying it. Russell talks to John and  tells him that although they were campaigning to vote John, they plan to put Laura's name down. If there is a tie, there is a revote. If there is a second tie, then rocks are drawn and the person who draws the rock of a different color will go home. Those in the tie are ineligible to choose a rock guaranteeing they stay. Russell says that if it goes to a tie, they will vote Laura. John agrees after promising that if Galu goes tonight, a Foa Foa will go at the next council.

Jeff speaks to the tribe at council. He asks John if he is surprised and John says that these votes are a total surprise. Jaison says that because they are a minority their votes are more trustworthy. Russell says that they are still looking for somebody to join them. When Shambo is asked if Galu is tight, she says that when Eric was voted it, Galu was broken. Laura says that the Galu she has been in is tight. Jeff says that if Shambo is on the fence it potentially can come down to a tie. Laura is not comfortable taking the chance, but it is not up to her alone. Dave says that if he has to he will draw a stone because you have to be willing to make big moves to get a win. Jeff says that he is very curious as to how it is going to go. After the votes are cast, Jeff asks for the immunity idol.  It is not played.

The votes:
Laura, Natalie, Laura, Natalie, Laura, Natalie, Laura, Natalie, Laura, Natalie. It is a tie and there must be a revote. Laura and Natalie cannot vote. Jeff informs the tribes of the procedure for a revote.

Laura BanishedThe second votes:
Laura, Natalie, Laura, Natalie, Laura, Natalie, Laura, Laura. Laura is th ninth person voted out of Survivor Samoa and the third person on the jury.

Shambo's grin nearly breaks her face and she nearly crows. Dave is in shock with open mouth as she is evicted from the tribe. Jeff sends the tribe on their way with these words. "Since the merge there have been three very surprising tribal councils. At this point he doesn't know if it is Galu, Foa Foa, or Aiga and he is guessing these guys don't know either. Galu watches their lead walk off into the night.

Next week on Survivor Samoa:
Russell feels the need to start a little chaos. Galu decides to aim their targets at Shambo. Jaison decides that at times you have to follow and tells Shambo he is on board.

Laura's last words:
She thinks she is sitting there for two reasons. One is Shambo who has put a target on her and the second is that she was a physical threat and it wasn't a good idea to win the first two immunity challenges back to back. She hopes that purple will prevail and Galu will stick together and win.
