GleeGLEE
THE CRUSHES, THE FUSSES, AND TRUST

Let me say straight up that last night’s episode of Fox' GLEE, to me, was the best so far this season.  Not only did we have a good story but the songs fitting in at their appropriate time was the best use yet!  The only down side for me was no Sue.  Come on, couldn’t they have found some little corner to put her in!

Let me also address an issue that I’ve been contemplating ever since the show began.  In an interview on one of the morning talk shows (and no, I can’t remember which one), Amber Riley said she auditioned and was rejected from American Idol.  What were the judges at American Idol thinking?  Amber Riley is one of the strongest voices in a cast full of talented people.  I have to wonder if the judges were asleep at the switch that year!

Also, Fox and executives if you read this, please, please, please let Kurt sing “Vogue” during the Madonna episode!

So let’s get down to the short recap.  I’m not dividing it into adults and students this week because of all of the interaction.

GleeRachel develops a crush on Will after singing “Endless Love” with him after he draws names for the pairs ballad class.
Kurt and Finn have to do a duet together and Kurt admits to the audience that he has a serious crush on Finn.
We learn that a student, Pepper, had a serious crush on Will that when he addressed the situation caused her to eat a really hot pepper and burn her esophagus so bad she had to have a transplant.
Rachel shows up at Will’s and Terrie puts her to work.
Will talks to Emma and comes up with a solution for letting Rachel down gently – the mix doesn’t work though and has both Emma and Rachel drooling.
Puck tells Mercedes that he’s really the father of Quinn’s child and she lays into him on what it takes to be a father.
Finn goes to dinner with Quinn and her folks where the truth comes out in song and Quinn is kicked out of the house and goes to live with Finn and his mom.
The Glee kids offer support to Finn and Quinn through the finale song with rocked!

This week I have to say that the music was special.  Best songs of the night were:
“Endless Love” – Will and Rachel
“I’ll Stand by You” – Finn
“Don’t Stand So Close/Young Girl” – the smash down that Will uses to try to let Rachel down but had Emma and her wanting more!
“Lean on Me” – Glee’s kids song of support for Quinn and Finn.

By the way, all these plus Finn’s song from last night, “You’re Having My Baby” will be on the Glee 2 album scheduled for release December 8th  (and yes, mine is on order).
