Dancing with the StarsDancing with the Stars
Welcome To Week Five
by Sammi-T

Hello and welcome to week five of Dancing With The Stars! Tonight our dancers will dazzle us with the paso doble, Argentine tango and the group hustle.

As they descend down the stairs, I observe a few things. 1. Mark Descacos has VERY nice abs. 2. Maks is covering for Derek, as was rumored earlier this weekend. 3. Anna looks awesome as a brunette.

Speaking of hair, Samantha’s looks like it should be in an eighties rock and roll video or some Halloween event.

The frist couple to dance is Natalie and Alec. They have the paso doble, and while she is working very hard, he wants her to stop overanalyzing everything. She also needs to work on being intiminating.

The dance is done to American Woman. He is dressed like a Greaser and she looks like Wonder Woman’s sister. The dance is less fierce than most paso dobles, but it has fabulous footwork and is very well executed.

Len thinks it lacked aggression and wants more chemistry between them. He thinks it was good overall though.

Bruno wants more aggression.

Carrie Ann thinks she moves well but wants her to go outside her box.

Scores: 7-8-7=22 out of 30

After a commercial break, Aaron and Karina take on the first Argentine tango of the night.  She brings in her friends Parrisa and Sandor to help him bring a mature feeling to the dance.  He hopes to show how the dance has made him a man.

The dance off starts off slow, but the footwork, the sexiness, the passion---it is incredible!  That, my friends is what an Argentine Tango should be!

Bruno jumps up and down in delight over his dance.

Carrie Ann calls him up to the table to give him a kiss of approval.

Len says he is back and he really enjoyed it.

Tom announces that LaToya Jackson is in the audience and will be back tomorrow for the Michael Jackson tribute.

Scores: 8-8-8=24 out of 30.

Michael and Anna are the second couple to dance the paso doble. He thinks it is his dance since it is all about passion and aggression. She teaches him how to clench his butt cheeks with a coin---literally.

The music is very fitting for the paso doble and I’ve decided this is one of the first dances I want to learn when I finally begin my lessons. But I digress. Michael is right, this is HIS dance. Holy toledo, was that good! He not only pulled off a great routine, but he actually looked like he was relaxed and having fun. I think it is all finally coming together for him.

Carrie Ann is glad he finally danced.

Len liked it and said it was even better than the bolero.

Bruno screams over how great it was and says to keep the nickel up his butt. Michael says Bruno can keep it.

Scores: 7-7-7=21 out of 30.

Mya and Dmitry take on the Argentine Tango. She teases him that he should wear a cup.  They take a break from rehearsal to volunteer and Habitat for Humanity. He encourages her to put the aggression she is using there into her tango.

The dance is filled with tricks, passion and sexiness. I love it, but I honestly think Aaron and Karina’s had more technique. However, if you combine both routines, you will have the PERFECT Argentine Tango.

Len liked it!

Bruno also likes it, but wants to see more emotional connection.

Carrie Ann thought the routine was great, but wants more emotion as well.

Scores: 9-9-9 for a 27 out of 30.

Mark and Lacey are the third couple to paso doble tonight. Lacey helps him work on his masculinity and being taller.

She comes out of a cloud of smoke and he comes down the stairs with the toughness and masculinity Lacey has been drawing out of him all week.  It is a fun, action packed dance filled with everything a paso doble should be.

Bruno loves it

Carrie Ann enjoyed it as well.

Len says it had everything he was looking for.

Scores: 9-9-8=26 out of 30.

The third Argentine Tango of the night is danced by Donny and Kym. He is very busy this week, but is still determined to do the best he can

Their dance is the perfect combination of Aaron’s and Mya’s. It has all the technique of Aarons and all the tricks of Mya’s, yet still has a Donny-ness to it. I love it!

Carrie Ann says the Argentine Tango loves Donny and he is what the show is about.

Len loves the intensity of it and says it was his best dance.

Bruno calls him Donny Darko and they begin a fun little banter.

Scores: 10-9-10=29 out of 30.

The next couple to dance is Louie and Chelsie. He is determined to do whatever it takes to make this dance work for them and not let Chelsie down. He promises a hot steamy tango.

The routine begins with them switching place on a chair and then leads to what has to be one of the hottest dances of the night. I definitely see a marked improvement in his dancing and there is no denying that they have some incredible chemistry,

Len was pleasantly surprised by them and thinks it was his best dance.

Bruno likes the story behind it but wants more dance in it.

Carrie Ann wants him to stay in dancer mode but likes how he partners her,

Scores: 7-8-7=22 out of 30.

Melissa and Mark also have the Argentine Tango this week. He is sick, so he sends Anna T.  in to help. She helps her get a woman’s point of view of how the dance should be. Mark is proud of what she has learned.

The dance is fiery and passionate, and has some nice, clean footwork. I love the passion of the dance and it is clear how hard she has worked this week.

Bruno thinks she lost her steps a few times and not as good as last week.

Carrie Ann thinks she nailed it.

Len thinks it was full on and overall she did a good job.

Scores: 8-8-7=23 out of 30.

Kelly and Louis have the paso doble this week. She has trouble focusing, so he helps her work on that. She is also terrified that she is dancing to one of her dad’s songs.

This is hands down the BEST paso doble of the night. The moves, the music—everything is just so amazing! No words can describe how great it is and it is so cool to see how much her daddy and the audience loved it.

Carrie Ann thinks it was like watching her parents dance. However she wants her to stay with it.

Len likes that the nervousness is gone but thinks it was a job well done.

Bruno thinks she was on it and should stay on it.

Scores: 8-8-8 for a 24 out of 30.

The final dance of the night is Joanna and her substitute partner Maks. They have the Argentine Tango and he  treats her as he would any of his own partners. Derek is stuck in bed but wishes them well. Get well soon Derek, we miss you!

I lied. THIS is the best Argentine Tango of the night. They are dancing to What Lola Wants, which Mario and Karina danced to in season 3. What a dance—despite the stumle it was the best of the night.

Bruno likes it but points out the stumble.

Len thinks they did a great job.

Carrie Ann loves it as well, but wants her to work on her flexibility.

DEREK! He is backstage saying he is better and missed the stumble.

Scores: 8-8-8=24 out of 30.

The group dance ends the night—Kelly will dance despite hurting her foot. This will not be scored.  Corky is helping to choreograph it, which is awesome since I love him so much! Louie is having trouble and Michael is doing great with the lifts. Louie and Aaron have a back flip contest, which Aaron backs out of.

The dance itself is actually pretty good and actually one of Louie best. Kelly’s solo is quite good and Mark is too adorable. To be honest, everyone was really good in this dance.  I think this is the best group dance so far.

Bruno calls it sublime and ridiculous.

Carrie Ann miss part of it because Michael was too big.

Len  calls it a job well done.

We get a recap of the night’s dances and a reminder to vote before the show ends.

Tune in tomorrow for the Dancing with the Stars results show, Norah Jones and of course the Michael Jackson tribute. Goodnight America.
