Big Brother 11
Recap July 14, 2009

With this episode of Big Brother 11, we join the house immediately after Lydia and Chima are nominated for eviction. Respected as competitors in Jesse's words, Chima finds that being a pawn is a bit nerve wracking and she hopes that things don't backfire on her. Laura feels she escaped the chopping block. In the Diary Roon, Russell says that reality set in for these people when they realize that this isn't camp.

Lydia cries when she is nominated and she wonders if she is an easy target with people just judging off of first impressions. Jordan and Jeff come to console her and tell her that this is just a game, so don't take it seriously. Kevin joins her and Chima goes to Ronnie and Michelle and says that everyone is consoling Lydia and Jeff is telling her she is safe. This makes Chima nervous and she decides to do some campaigning. Chima feels that Lydia's team mates will vote for her and she is getting close to Jordan and Jeff. Laura feels bad and thinks she is being targeted because she is pretty and has boobs. Casey says that it is hard being beautiful sometimes. In the diary room he says that you can't help it, you chose to get implants. Jesse feels that he lost Jeff and he speaks to Russell about it. Russell says that Laura shook and she could easily become one of ours. Jesse tells Russell to go scoop her up right now while the iron is hot. Russell brings Laura up and he tells her that they have her on their side. Laura says that the athletes are running the house and if she doesn't say what they want to hear they will take her out. Jesse tells her that they need winners on their team. In the Diary Room, Russell says that they are steam rolling the Big Brother 11 house, so get out of the way or get run over.

Having fun, Braden busts out his leather pant and Ronnie thinks that Braden is from Planet Klactu. Braden shows his silly side with half formed phrases and comedy, good looks and charm, and Russell realizes that Braden is they type of guy who could fly under the radar and win the game. 

Jesse calls the houseguests to the Veto Competition. Lydia doesn't want the athletes to play in the competition since they put her on the block. Jesse explains how the power of veto competition will work. Six players will play in the game and each nominated houseguest and the head of household will choose a chip from a bag sight unseen that will name the player who will play along side with them.

Chima draws Houseguest choice and she chooses Natalie.
Lydia draws Jeff's chip.
Casey is going to MC the competition.

The Veto Competition set is a giant face with acne. There are zits and acne cream and Chima finds it disgusting. She says that she can relate, and is that her high school picture?  Casey says that they have to get the pimples popping and they have to pop the pimples, collect scrabble letters to form a word from the letters. The person to form the longest word when time is up (4 minutes) will win the competition. They are set to the competition. Natalie says that it was gross putting her hand in there. Lydia says that it smelled like cheesey eggs and she looked for the letters to civilization. While they are playing there is a flakey substance falling. Chima looked for the letters to superficiality. Jeff says that his strategy was just not to embarass himself. Russell just grabbed tons of letters and put them in the bucket. Jesse found letters and spelled a word and then slammed the cover down to complete his word early. Russell has a ton of letters. Lydia says that she was rampaging on the zits and she was just looking for letters. Down to five seconds, Lydia is not happy with her choice. Casey has them open their words and Jesse spelled Continuously, but it was misspelled having a q in it and missing a U. Natalie spelled last.

Chima did not spell her word superficiality, as she was missing letters. Russell spelled shotgun. Jeff spelled technotronic, but couldn't find an h. Lydia has spelled civilization, but is missing letters. Russell wins the Power of Veto with the word shotgun.

The Big Brother 11 house heats up after the competition and the cliques are taking sides and drawing lines in the sand. Russell says that Jeff is about as useful as a bag of marbles. Laura and Natalie join Jesse in congratulating Russell in the HOH. Russell finds that Jeff is spending a lot of time with Jordan and he is not on his team, but with them. Russell approaces Jeff in the backyard and he wants to make sure the rest of the house agrees with him. Russell starts on the word technotronics, and starts ribbing Jeff, saying that he can't win a physical challenge or a mental challenge and what is he worth? Russell tells him to go back to fourth grade again. Russell gets in his face when Jeff rises to the bait and says that he could only spell shotgum. When Natalie rises, Jeff tells her to not start, but go in with her team. Natalie tells him that he is not with the team and doesn't spend any time with them and isn't willing to get any blood on his hands. He says that he doesn't like her or Russell and to stop making up stories. She says that it is a good thing he is on their team or he would be the one going up. He says that everyone on their team is f* and to spell that word. He continues to work out on the eliptical as Natalie goes inside the house.

Lydia says that she will do whatever it takes to get off the block and stay in the Big Brother 11 house. She says she will rub Russell's shoulders and make nice. She goes to Russell and he tells her that Natalie wanted her up. Lydia says that she needs to convince the guys that she needs to stay in the house and be an asset to their game. After talking to Russell, Lydia goes to Jesse and asks him why someone like him would let Natalie dictate what to do. Natalie comes up to the HOH room and Lydia confronts her. Natalie admits that she wanted her on the block. Natalie says that she is very honest and Lydia isn't someone she was friends with. Lydia realizes that she has to give them a new focus in order to deflect the attention from her. She brings up Braden's name and says that she isn't sorry to do it, because it is a game and she has to outgame him to stay in the house. She is successful as Jesse and Russell have a late night game talk. Jesse says that Braden is the one getting off scot free with everything and he is willing to make a deal with her to get out Braden. Jesse says that he is a good competitor and everyone gets along with him, and Jesse tells Russell that it is his call. Jesse says that if they don't act now, they will regret it and Natalie agrees that Braden needs to go home. Russell talks to Ronnie and gets Ronnie's support. Ronnie realizes that Russell is a loose cannon, and he wants everyone to realize how much of a supporter he is of them so that no matter how the power shifts, he will end up on the power side. Ronnie goes to Jeff and Jordan and tells them about the shift in focus and they go tell Braden. Ronnie tells Braden that he is next and swears him to secrecy. Ronnie says that they should hold their chips and see what happens at the ceremony.

Russell is sure that Ronnie is speaking to the other side and he approaches Ronnie directly. Ronnie denies it and Russell is not believing a word of his denial. Ronnie is shaken and Russell doesn't believe it, even as Ronnie asks some questions and offers his support. Russell gets Jesse in the storage room and tells him that someone has leaked it out and Ronnie talks to everyone, was in the room with Jeff, Jordan, and Russell, and he feels he is the leak. He doesn't convince Jesse, and later he tells Ronnie he is watching him. Russell thinks that this is a poor game play.

Russell feels that Big Brother 11 is a human chess game, and although his team is in power, he has to do what is best for Russell. Ronnie is worried that his strategy will backfire on him. Lydia says that she has anxiety waiting for the response to the power of veto.

Russell calls the Power of Veto ceremony to order and says that he has the power to veto the nomination. He calls on the nominees to speak on their behalf before he makes his decision. Lydia says that she likes him as a player and a person and she will be grateful if he chooses to use it on her, and if he chooses not to, she will still adore him. Chima says that she would like for him to use it on her, but whatever he has chosen, it will be okay. He chooses to save Lydia. Jesse says that due to the current events of the day he chooses Braden as the replacement nominee. Braden says that he is Braden and has been nominated. He then says "I am Braden and I am sitting in the green chair."

In the diary room Braden says that he will continue fighting and won't give up. Chima says she went on as a pawn and hopes that she won't become the target. Lydia says that she took her destiny in her own hands and it worked. Jeff is upset with his team and feels that they are not including him in their decisions.
