It's an Addiction!

The Bachelorette starring Jillian Harris premiered earlier this week. It seems each season we wonder about the same things: Will we love her, love the bachelors she kept or is this looking like another dead ending?  I have stated before that I am not a Jillian fan. Nonetheless, I found her to be entertaining, down to earth and surprisingly humble. The only question that remains is will she hold my interest for the entire season?  Hard to say, but I will be tuning in each week.  It's an addiction..... watch people get wooed, watch them cry, watch them struggle with their emotions from week to week, and of course watch all the drama that the bachelors don't get to witness.

I found the season opener to be less of an attention grabber than in seasons past. Perhaps it was too many guys (did I just say that?) because they all kinda blended together. Even before the 5 new men joined the cocktail party, it felt as though there were 99 guys already there. How she can tell them apart is a trick we have yet to learn. I mean really - with being nervous, anxious, and excitement all around her, I would love to know how she was able to concentrate on who she would be eliminating. Add to that glasses of wine and I think I would be doing the eeny meeny miney mo thing.

Some of the men made interesting first impressions as they got out of the limo, but the one that will forever be remembered is Dave. Anyone think it was a ploy to standout by suddenly pleading the 5th? Whether or not it was his nerves that made him choke or an attention grabber, he walked away a winner by receiving the first impression rose. Or was that the second first impression rose? Ahhh, such a clever line it doesn't matter.

Another attention grabber was Jesse, the wine maker or maker of "love juice". (Who writes for these people???)  He will be remembered for revealing his "Aspiring Canadian" t shirt he sported under his dress shirt. Yo, break dancer Michael knew how to get her attention and make her laugh which scored points for him, could he really be her type? I'm just not into him. Ha, I must have the same writers as they do.

Tanner, the foot fetish guy was major creepy to me and most likely to everyone else watching. He sure was edited to look so much like a freak that it made me wonder what he was thinking about when they kept asking him to talk about feet whenever he had camera time? Every season we need someone to laugh at I guess. Sorry Tanner, I'm sure you're a nice guy, but geeez! Toe jam and hangnail talk is what you will be remembered for.

Standouts to me, well let's see. Wes the country singer is hot and he can saaang. (not a typo : ) Something tells me he might be one of the men that has a girlfriend back home and cmight really be searching for some publicity. If not, hopefully he has something to offer Jillian other than a song. Jake, the pilot (insert sigh here) I'm thinking many females would be thrilled to be flying with him! He almost seems too perfect though, so something's gotta give. I'll put him in my second spot for now. First place has to go to kryptonite, oops, I mean Kiptyn. Either way, the guy is smokin hot and he seems super sweet. And hot. Hehe. There are some more really good looking guys in the mix but to Jillian, remember it's not about the look. Yeh right, it can't hurt.

So,I will sit in front of the television again next Monday night watching The Bachelorette,- but looking for some excitement this time. Someone will definitely have to do something dramatic to get her attention because they all will be trying to snag the first one-on-one date. I'm glad I get to tag along so I can see Martina McBride!
