Biggest LoserThe Biggest Loser - Couples 2
The Price of Losing Focus

NBC' The Biggest Loser Couples 2 opens tonight with Mike and Ron talking about Joelle and Carla going home.  They are relieved that they got to stay and know that they might have gone home had they been up against anyone else.   They talk about wanting to work hard and take all they learn at The Biggest Loser compound home and helping Mike's 16 year old brother who is as overweight as Mike.

The Pop Challenge
Alison arrives and tells everyone to follower her outside.  Near the pool are blocks in their team colors.  Alison welcomes them to the first ever "pop challenge".  She informs them that they will each stand on a block, on one foot.  The question will be how long can you hold it - the last person to put their foot down will win.  Alison tells them that the winner of this challenge will be allowed to reconnect with someone they love right there on the campus.  Alison tells them to step up on their block and take a second to balance.   First one out is Ron, then Mike steps off the block and follows his father.  Kristen loses her balance.  Tara begins to struggle as does Shanon.  They regain their balance and begin to distract each other.  Dane steps off, then Tara dives into the pool.  Cathy loses her balance.  Shanon loses her balance and knocks her mom off balance.  All this and only 5 minutes have passed.

Laura begins to wobble and steps off.  Sione can't keep his balance and is out.  Filipe is wobbling.  Aubrey and Mandi are still steady.  Blaine is having trouble with his balance.  Mandi asks Filipe to please let her see her husband.  Filipe says in his heart he knows it is the right thing to do and steps off.  Mandi almost loses her balance and she begins to ask Blaine to please let her see her husband.  He asks Aubrey if she will let Mandi have it.  She says yes and they both step off.  Blaine says he was just home to see his child born.  Alison tells Mandi that she has won 24-hours with her husband.

After the challenge Bob arrives and says he is not surprised to see the Brown Team still there after that weigh-in last week.  He reminds them that they have been below the yellow line for the last two weeks.  Sione tells them that they had obvious teams going home for the last two weeks and he doesn't want to be put in that position again.   Bob tells his teams to go to the gym and asks the Brown Team to stay back.  Bob tells them that they are not eating right.  He says they have to eat more in order for their bodies to drop weight.  Mike says it is a huge mental thing.  Bob tells him he has to break that mental block or they are going to go home.

Jillian is with her teams.  Mandi tells her that she has won 24 hours with her husband.  Jillian doesn't look happy.  Jillian tells her that this might not go perfectly because her husband is not a part of the experience and not really happy about it.  She tells her she is afraid it may make her feel guilty or even homesick and that this might be dangerous for her right now.  Mandi tells her she will just tell her husband that this is what she wants and she understands she can't change her husband's mind about her being there.

Bob takes his teams out for a yoga workout.   He says the more mental strength you have the more you will withstand the challenges.  The teams talk about how it helps them relax and focus.  Jillian on the other hand, takes her teams to the gyms for a robust workout.  She works with Laura because she feels there is no intensity.  She calls Tara over and tells her everytime Laura drops her left hand after a jab, she is to slap her face.  Laura doesn't miss a mark - she hits every jab without dropping her hand.  After the yoga session, Bob takes his teams for a long walk/run... to Subway.  When they arrive, Bob tells them to grab an apple and fill their water jugs because the Subway they are eating at is 2 more mile away.  They continue on the journey and finally have a Subway sub.  Sione remarks that they don't have to worry about the calories because they burned them walking there.  Bob reminds them they walked 5 miles to get there and have to walk 5 miles back.

The Endurance Challenge
Alison greets the teams in front of a contraption with large bars suspended.  She tells them that their partners depend on them to succeed because everything each of them does in the competition affects both of them.  Tonight they will each hold opposite ends of a bar over their heads, if it tips too far, a red light will come on and they will be out.  The team that holds out the longest will win immunity at this weeks weigh-in.

Our contestants pass the 60 minute mark and Alison announces they must choose just one arm - no more switching.  The Blue Team loses their focus, the light goes on and are out of the game.  Everyone continues to look comfortable and at 1 hour 45 minutes, the Brown Team is out, followed by the Black Team.  Only the ladies remain.  At 2 hours, Alison tells them both hands on the bar.  In doing so, Pink Team loses focus and is out, quickly followed by the Yellow Team.  Laura whispers to Tara that she can't feel her hands.  Tara tells her that they have it, but they are squirming a lot.  Cathy and Kristen are steady.  Alison announces it is midnight and they hare at the 4 hour mark.  Kristen says she is in the zone and will stand there till the sun comes up.  Tara offers the Purple Team a deal that they won't vote for them if they let them win immunity.  Kristen says no.  Laura whispers to Tara that her arms are killing her, she loses her focus and the bar touches - they lose the challenge after 4 hours and 40 minutes.

Mandi is reunited with her husband.  They hug and Mandi says it is like a dream come true for her.  Rusty says being apart from her really makes him appreciate her more.  She tells him she has lost 45 pounds.  She says it was great seeing her husband, but she would really like to see her boys... knock at the door.... enter the boys!  Mandi is surprised and begins to cry and hug her sons.   They have a nice family reunion.  Mandi doesn't want to let them go because she is afraid of how fast the time with them is going to go by.  Mandi introduces her children the other contestants at breakfast.  She makes the boys scrambled eggs and turkey bacon.  She then takes them out and shows them how she works our every day.  She wants to prove to Jillian that this visit is a good thing for her.

The Last Chance Workout
Bob arrives in a golf cart and Kristen tells Bob him that they beat the Green Team.  Bob says Kristen deserved it and he takes Kristen and Cathy for a ride in his golf cart while the others walk to the gym.  Kristen says she wants to be below 300 this week.  Bob says if Brown falls below the yellow line again it will freak him out.  He gives the Blue and Brown Teams a very hard, painful workout, bringing Mike to tears.  Mike says he wants to stay and wants his dad to stay.  Bob says Mike knows now how much his dad needs him and that he has the power to keep them both there.  Bob says will the third time be the charm or three strikes and you are out.

Jillian has her Teams working out.  Tara says she is so scared because for the last two weeks she has been doing so well and she is afraid she can't continue dropping big numbers, especially now that she does not have immunity.  Jillian says she is killing them because they don't have the numbers or votes for anyone to fall below the yellow line.  Mandi says she can't stop thinking about her family and she is tired.  Jillian asks what she is going to do and Mandi begins to cry.  She says it is frustrating not having any control of what is going on at home.  Jillian explains that her health must come first.  Mandi says her family is leaving and she wants to spend the last hour with them.  She cries and tells Jillian that she will work out until midnight.  She leaves and Jillian tells the others that this is exactly what she was talking about.  Mandi returns to the house and tells her kids and husband goodbye.  They are all crying, especially her oldest son.  Mandi tells them she loves them and she needs to know that they will be okay.  Rusty says he will support her.  She says she is doing this for all of them.

The Weigh-In
Alison greets our contestants telling them about how important their partners are and tonight is no exception.  She tells them that only one team will fall below the yellow line tonight and the rest of them will be voting to send home one member of that team.

Purple Team - Kristin +2 / Cathy - 4        - 2 pounds    (Immunity)
Blue Team - Filipe -10 / Sione -11          -21 pounds  3.37%
Green Team - Laura  3- / Tara -11         -14 pounds  2.85%

Yellow Team - Mandi - 6  / Aubrey -1     - 7 pounds  1.57%
Black Team - Blaine - 4 / Dane - 5          - 9 pounds 1.41%

Alison announces that either Blaine or Dane will be going home tonight.  They go back to the house to talk about who will go go home.  Blaine asks them to please send him home because that would be best for them and he only has 50 pounds left to loose.  He cries and asks them to please respect his decision.  Filipe asks for a few minutes to talk about it.  Ron says he knows Blaine wants to go home to see his baby, but he thinks Dane would have a better chance at doing it at home.  Aubrey says Dane wants to be there and Blaine wants to go home.  Arguments ensure about game play versus playing from the heart.  They question why Joelle was ever kept there knowing that she was the weaker player and it was obvious gameplay.  Aubrey says that Dane wants to stay and Blaine wants to go home and she doesn't understand why anyone is even questioning the vote.

The Elimination
The contestants arrive for the elimination.
Pink votes Dane.
Brown votes Blaine.
Green votes Blaine.
Blue votes Blaine.
Purple votes Blaine.

Alison tells Blaine it sounds like he go what he wanted.  He says that he will be a better person for the few weeks he has spent there.  He hugs Dane while the others cry.  Everyone rises to hug him.  He tells them he loves them and leaves the room.

When Blaine arrived on campus, he weight 365 pounds, he leaves weighing 299.  He is stronger and healthier, has gotten off 8 medications and gets to go home to his family.  He says the next time we see him, he will be healthier and a lot sexier.  Blaine has lost a total of 86 pounds to date.  His wife says it is like getting her best friend back.  He says he wants to do an Ironman before be goes back for the Finale.

Next week on The Biggest Loser:  To avoid elimination, Mike must lose enough weight for him and his sick father. Then, after gaining 2 pounds, can Kristen, the heaviest woman on campus, bounce back?
