MLB All Star Game
The Highlights

“Minneapolis 2014” The Fall Classic, signifies the centerpiece of a exciting Major League Baseball Season. (Even though it is not exactly in the middle). We have seen resurgences of downtrodden franchises; The Seattle Mariners led by new manager Lloyd McClendon and ace pitcher “King Felix” Hernandez, and the Miami Marlins with help by HR King Giancarlo Stanton and the giant Pinball looking sculpture in Center Field blinding opposing players. This season is the last for legendary SS Derek Jeter for the New York Yankees, who is going on his goodbye tour receiving gifts such as air guitars and lego sculptures of himself. We have the NL Central in which 4 quality baseball teams (Brewers, Reds, Cardinals, and Pirates) are all separated by 3.5 games. The AL East seems like a different team is in control of it every day. New superstars have made themselves presences in the league like CF Billy Hamilton for Cincinnati and ace Japanese prospect Masahiro Tanaka. We have seen 3 No Hitters so all thrown by pitchers out of the NL West. (Tim Lincecum, Clayton Kershaw and Josh Beckett).

All of this has led us to Minneapolis, this weekend gives the hard working MLB athletes who play 162 games a season in a 6 month span, a hard needed 3/4 day break. Sunday, the youngest prospects took the field showing themselves of in the Futures Game, this is followed by the past MLB Legends and current celebrities taking part in softball festivities. Monday is where the big ballers of the league take the stage and see how many HR’s they can blast out of Target Field. Tuesday, the event takes place. The only all-star game of the 4 major sports which actually still has some significance. The winner of the Summer Classic earns Home Field advantage for their conference in October when the Fall Classic (The World Series) rolls around. Here at TVGrapevine we bring you the list of players who earned this great honor of taking part in the All Star Game on FOX.

Some of the players who have something in (Parentheses) Next to them this indicates that they are either injured or pitched sunday and there fore are unable to participate. Additionally the number in parenthesis by each athlete signifies how many times they have been selected in the all star game.

Well that’s it. My Picks National League will win 6-4. The winning pitchers are almost impossible to predict just because of the way pitchers are in and out but I will take a stab that the winning pitcher is Henderson Alvarez and the losing Pitcher is Yu Darvish. The Save will go to Craig Kimbrel. In the HR Derby I will do with Yasiel Puig to take down Adam Jones in the finals. I hope everyone enjoyed the above and is looking forward to All Star Weekend as much as I am.
