Hollywood received some shocking news over the weekend when Kevin Spacey admitted to allegedly molesting actor Anthony Rapp several years ago. The admission came out right after the Star Trek Discovery actor went public with his accusations.

In a shocking social media statement, Spacey claims that he did not recall the incident in which Rapp accused him of trying to seduce him in 1986, but is “horrified” over the incident. “If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” Spacey said.

In that same post, Spacey came out of the closet, saying that he is choosing to live his life as a gay man from now on, an announcement that caused a lot of controversy over the last twenty-four hours. People found it in poor taste that he would make such an announcement after his sexual misconduct accusations.

It was also announced today that Spacey’s hit Netflix series “House of Cards” has been cancelled. The network and production company released a joint statement regarding the show and Spacey: “Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey. “In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.”

More information will be released as it becomes available.
