Will and Grace Recap

“Will and Grace” did not have the best first week back but the hope is that the actors will get back into the groove of things…mainly Debra Messing as the rest seemingly have all found their swing. As always, Will (Eric McCormack) and Jack (Sean Hayes) steal the show as they share with Grace the tale of their night out at a bar. Jack is dealing with being looked at like a “daddy” whereas Will got a handsome 23-year-old named Blake. The staff at Karen’s home want a raise as Rosario has sent one of the maids up to chat about it. Karen does not really need the help as she has seemingly turned the house into a smart home with technology but she gives in and gives them the raise. Jack shows up and the staff already knows about his humiliation at the club so Karen suggests that he gets Botox for his balls. She has a plethora of items to bring youth back to anyone and Jack is ready to utilize any and everything.

It is time for the date with Blake and as Will greets him with a kiss, he sees he’s on FaceTime. Blake’s talking to his female best friend and jokes that he lives with her but it won’t last long…clearly, that is hilarious to Will until the friend says Will looks like her dad. Jack is back out there in his new garments and with all the magnets and man suctioning, he can barely move. Karen asks Grace for a raise but she has to remind her assistant that she does not do anything so nothing has changed in 11 years. Will is realizing how hard it is dating a young guy, especially as he listens to Madonna and refers to the nineties, particularly 1994, the same year Blake was born. While Jack and Will and fighting age, Karen and Grace are legitimately fighting in the smart bathroom which has now gotten them locked in together, with the water turned on and the drain closed. The lengths we go to for youth and raises.

Jack has met a guy who is ready to hook up with but he is trapped in his compression clothing and magnets. He begs Will for help who tells Jack that Blake does not like Madonna. That makes Jack tell him he needs to immediately dump the boy then proceeds to go put on a face full of make-up to look 25. The two compare coming out stories and Blake’s was super easy while Will’s was traumatic. He explains that the reason the youth of America has it a little easier is because of the gays who came before and paved the way. Will proceeds to give a whole education which I doubt Blake even gives a crap about but he must do it and he has to address Madonna and how much she loved the gays. Maybe Blake came out at 8 but that’s not Will’s story nor the story of so many. Oh and Karen and Grace are still drowning in the shower where Karen has a way of reminding Grace why she is an asset to the company. She helps to be a calming influence and they love each other. FYI: to get out of the shower, they needed a safe word to turn off the all the electronics and it happened to be Grace Adler. That is what kills the mood for Karen but there’s still love.

Both Will and Jack lost their guys. Will sent his away and Jack’s was scared off when he saw him covered in make-up. They talk to each other about what they want in a guy and as they finish each other’s sentences, it becomes clear that we are being set up for Jack and Will to end up together. They look over, knowing that they had a moment where they know they are probably perfect for one another but won’t admit it then proceed to dance to Madonna’s “Borderline” as a drenched Grace walks through the door. This episode was definitely a better throwback to the old school show we are used to and for that, I am grateful!
