CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT: MEET COOPER FRIEDMANCELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT
MEET COOPER FRIEDMAN
By Sammi Turano

1.Tell me about yourself and career.
2. What made you decide to become an actor?

I have been acting since I was 4 years old. I would watch my older brother, Quinn, go to auditions.  I really enjoyed going with him to auditions and getting to see him play different characters. I would memorize his scripts and act them out at home. I told my parents that I wanted to do what my brother did so at 4 years old I started going out on auditions too. I love the entire process of being an actor; memorizing lines, auditioning and being on set. It is so much fun and I want to do it forever.

3. Tell me about Battle of the Sexes,

Battle of the Sexes is a movie about a famous tennis match between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. It took place in the 1970’s. Billy Jean King won the match. It was an important match because it helped show everyone that women and men are equal.

4. What is your role?
I play Bobby Riggs Jr. who is the son of Bobby Riggs, played by Steve Carell

5. What is it like working with Steve Carell?

Steve Carell is such a nice person! He was very kind and he would tell me stories about his kids. He was super funny too and cool to work with and learn from

6. What were some other highlights of filming?

One of my favorites scenes from the movie was when I got to jump from coach to coach with Steve Carell. That was such a fun day! I can’t wait to see it all on screen.

7. You got to work with some amazing people such as Betty White and Valerie Bertinelli on Hot In Cleveland and Ben Savage on Girl Meets World. Tell me about that?

Betty White was very sweet. She acted like my grandma and gave me great hugs. I remember we had a hula party on the last day of filming and we danced together. Valerie Bertinelli was super funny. She would tell me jokes and tickle me. Ben Savage was awesome. We would talk a lot. He would tell great stories.

8. What had been your favorite career moment so far?

I think Girl Meets World was my favorite job so far. I ended up meeting so many great friends. They have become my best friends.

9. What else are you working on?

I worked on a few episodes of Shameless recently and a TV show called Adam Ruins Everything. I'm also in a Geico commercial right now where I play a guitar in the back seat of the car.  (commercial link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dr53ri99_xQ)

10. What do you want to do in the future?

I would love to act when I'm older. I would also like to study science and become a Kinesiologist. I would love to learn and study more about the human body.

11. What would people be surprised to know about you?

I think people would be surprised to know that I am 9 years old.  Most people think I'm younger because I am short for my age.

12. What are you watching on tv these days?

I watch a lot of comedies Goldbergs, Fresh Off the Boat, Speechless, Big Bang Theory and I really like Teen Titans Go.
