ROLLING STONES SAXOPHONIST DEAD AT 70
Sad news for the music world. Bobby Keys, who is best known for being the saxophonist for The Rolling Stones, has died after a long illness. He was 70 years old.
The band released the following statement to the media: "The Rolling Stones are devastated by the loss of their very dear friend and legendary saxophone player, Bobby Keys," Bobby made a unique musical contribution to the band since the 1960s. He will be greatly missed."
“I have lost the largest pal in the world and I can't express the sense of sadness I feel, although Bobby would tell me to cheer up. My condolences to all that knew him and his love of music,” guitarist Keith Richards added in his own statement.
In addition to playing with the Stones, Keys played with legends such as Buddy Holly, George Harrison and John Lennon throughout his career.
