Recap For June 18, 2013
Hello and welcome to America's Got Talent on NBC. Tonight's show is only an hour due to The Voice finale, but it still promises to be entertaining.
The auditions will take place in Chicago. Will we find our winner in the Windy City? Only time will tell!
The first act is The Omega Force Strength Team, who are able to lift 3,800 lbs as a team. The coolest part is that one of the members is 75 years old. Seeing him lift the 300 lbs just blows me away and inspires me to no end. I want to be able to do stuff like that when I am that age.
Howard: They are inspirational.
Mel B: She loves how entertaining it was.
Heidi: She loves it.
Howie: It was entertaining, but he is going to say no.
Everyone else votes yes, so it is off to Vegas for them!
After a montage of acts going to Vegas, including the Team Rock Karate Stunt Group, Kyle and Darby the Amazing Five Year Old Cheerleader. who performs stunts I am too scared to do at almost 30. She is incredible and has quite a future ahead of her!
Kenichi does an interesting dance routine that reminds me of the running man on steroids mixed with other various dance moves. It is like a contortionist, a robot and a hip hop dancer all rolled into one. There was a guy like this on SYTYCD and Superstars of Dance years ago, but I cannot for the life of me think of his name. I actually quite enjoy it! He is having fun and also filled with talent we rarely get to see on shows like this.
Heidi: It was unbelievable and awesome.
Mel B: It was off the chain and at one point thought his head came off his body.
Howard: It was like doing the Matrix in 90 seconds and he could watch it all day long.
Howie: It was the best dancing they have seen on the show.
It's unanimous, he is off to Vegas.
Deanna is a dog rescuer who also loves to sing. She has a beautiful voice that wins everyone over right away. It has to be one of the most powerful voices I have ever heard….and I am friends with one of the most talented bands in the country.
Howard: He loves her!
Heidi: She is powerful.
Mel B: She loves her, but hopes she protects her voice.
Howie: She has a lot of talent and heart.
She is sent to Vegas.
Steve rebuilds Rube Goldberg Machines, which is basically a machine that demonstrates a chain reaction. It reminds me of the one gentleman from a couple of seasons ago who did the chain reaction act, Kinetic Kid. Does anyone else remember him? Anyway, it is quite impressive to watch. I love out of the box talent like this and would actually pay to see something like this.
The judges all love it and send him to Vegas.
Rong Niu is on an eleven foot unicycle, peddling with one foot and juggling in heels. I can do almost anything in heels, but even I don't think I can pull this off. However, I would see this act again, which is why I am glad she is off to Vegas.
The night closes with the American Military Spouses Choir singing Ain't No Mountain High Enough. It was a beautiful performance that just melted my heart….and the hearts of the judges because they are all off to Vegas as well. Thank you to their spouses for serving our country.
Join us next week for more auditions. Goodnight.
